Award Winning Architects Commissioned for Neighborhood near Kia in Georgia

When determining the architectural and residential design for its classic southern homes at Quail Run, a masterplanned community in Chambers County, Ala., West Point developer, Greater Valley Group (GVG) called upon two of the Southeast’s leading experts in the architecture and residential design field.
To ensure they captured idyllic traditional southern architecture, GVG commissioned James. L Strickland, founder and president of Historical Concepts, an Atlanta-based architectural firm and L. Mitchell Ginn, founder of Newnan, Ga., based L. Mitchell Ginn and Associates, Inc., who together have combined experience in excess of 50 years.
Strickland, who has been recognized nationally for designing southern historic homes, recently helped design the 2010 Southern Living Idea Home in Senoia, Ga. Strickland has also worked on numerous homes across the Southeast including The Reames Residence in Atlanta that was the recipient of the Shutze Award in 2008. Ginn has also been acknowledged for his work including the notable 2006 Southern Living Idea House on Daniel Island in South Carolina.
“Bringing in Mr. Strickland and Mr. Ginn allowed us to utilize their architectural expertise,” said Tim Randolph, chief operating officer for Southern Place Homes, builders at Quail Run. “I think once you visit Quail Run, you will understand the benefits of us working with two of the Southeast’s most respected architects.”
During Quail Run’s initial design stages, Strickland worked closely with GVG to design what is known as the Cannon House in the community. Shortly after the initial design elements were put into place, Ginn was brought in on the project to help implement and revise existing plans that had already been drawn. Ginn also drew a few plans of his own including the Kendall, Ashley, Rutledge and Miss Maggie models.

Greater Valley Group Introduces “Founder’s Club” at Riverside Estates

Greater Valley Group (GVG) announces the creation of its “Founder’s Club” program at Riverside Estates. Twenty homeowners will have an opportunity to purchase lots and build homes in this exclusive Chambers County, Ala., golf course community at “Founder’s Club” pricing.
Only twenty lot-owners will be members of the exclusive club. Each will receive the following discounts on the purchase price of their selected home lot:

Hunting Preserve to Open near Alabama and Georgia State Line

The Southeast’s newest hunting preserve, Twisted Pine Hunting Preserve announced today that it will open for business Saturday, September 4, the first day of dove season.
The preserve features over 2,100 acres of prime hunting land in east central Alabama and western Georgia. Properties include 1,700 acres in Chambers County, Ala., for quality deer and turkey hunts and a 45-acre dove field in Harris County, Ga.

Home Buyer Tax Credit Extended for Military

Military personnel who served on official duty outside of the United States for 90 days or more between January 1, 2009 and April 30, 2010 are eligible for an extended home buyer tax credit through April 30, 2011.
In order to qualify, you must be a member of the uniformed services of the United States military, a member of the Foreign Service of the United States, or an employee of the intelligence community.
Those interested in taking advantage of this tax buyer credit only have until April 30, 2011 to sign a sales contract. Homes must be closed on by June 30, 2011. Both the $8,000 first-time and $6,500 repeat home buyer tax credits are included.
In addition, the original stipulation that required buyers to repay the tax credit if they moved out of their home within three years has also been waived for qualified service members if they have to sell their home due to government orders for extended duty service.
Homes in the master-planned community of Quail Run or golf-course community of Riverside Estates, are a perfect way to utilize this tax credit. Homes in Quail Run begin in the $180,000s. Riverside Estates homes are priced from the $200,000s.
