June 01, 2010 - By GVG

military tax creditMilitary personnel who served on official duty outside of the United States for 90 days or more between January 1, 2009 and April 30, 2010 are eligible for an extended home buyer tax credit through April 30, 2011.

In order to qualify, you must be a member of the uniformed services of the United States military, a member of the Foreign Service of the United States, or an employee of the intelligence community.

Those interested in taking advantage of this tax buyer credit only have until April 30, 2011 to sign a sales contract. Homes must be closed on by June 30, 2011.  Both the $8,000 first-time and $6,500 repeat home buyer tax credits are included.

In addition, the original stipulation that required buyers to repay the tax credit if they moved out of their home within three years has also been waived for qualified service members if they have to sell their home due to government orders for extended duty service.

Homes in the master-planned community of Quail Run or golf-course community of Riverside Estates, are a perfect way to utilize this tax credit. Homes in Quail Run begin in the $180,000s. Riverside Estates homes are priced from the $200,000s.

Quail Run has 236 lots to choose from. The community includes an amenity park with pool, pavilion, and multi-purpose sports field. A tennis court will also be completed in June. Homes range from 1,800 to 4,000 square feet and include luxurious details such as granite counters, spacious porches, carriage style garage doors and Whirlpool appliances.

Riverside Estates is adjacent to Riverside Country Club. Of the community’s 141 half-acre lots, 101 are on the golf course. Riverside Estates offers 18 home plans to choose from. Buyers are also able to bring their own plans that have to be reviewed by an architectural board.

Residents of Riverside Estates currently receive a one-year membership to the Riverside Country Club and Golf Course upon paying HOA fees.
